Mission Statement of Guilford Christian Academy:

Guilford Christian Academy MissionBeing led of the Lord to start Guilford Christian Academy in 2001, my wife Patricia and I, James White, have filed all the appropriate paperwork to the state of Maine. It is our desire to assist parents and their children in furthering their education by providing them a means by which to homeschool in a legal manner. We hope to encourage and strengthen all of the homeschooling community no matter what your belief system is.

It is our belief that God has provided in his Word, the Bible, all necessary and prudent direction in training children. His Word says:

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. (Deuteronomy 6:5-7), and The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalms 111:10)

We offer to our families any assistance that we can possibly give them through our experiences in Homeschooling the past 2 decades. We will provide students with transcripts, diploma, and graduation ceremony at the end of their studies at a high school level. However, we denounce a diploma as the goal to achieve. Instead, we feel that it is much more appropriate that the parent and child alike desire that wisdom be their goal; wisdom being the ability to utilize knowledge with discernment and prudence.

It is our prayer that by seeking wisdom our students will be able to achieve to the extent of their potential throughout their life.
