Guilford Christian Academy’s goal is to help families in the state of Maine with educating their children in the home setting while providing supervision and guidance without setting stringent demands on the family. This allows the family unit to make every opportunity a learning experience.
**We also provide transcripts and a custom diploma for non-members.
Parents choose Guilford Christian Academy because we do not require using a certain curriculum but allow the parents and students to choose their curriculum or design their own plan of study that suits their needs and goals. Our experience helps us counsel families on the many options available for curriculum and other learning opportunities. We keep lines of communication as accessible as possible from social media to one on one consultations.
Former transcripts and public school records are reviewed and analyzed to help us help you. We can recommend textbooks and other learning materials but will take into account any interests of the student and parent. We desire to help the family set goals that allow the student to learn and study at his/her own pace through the year. Our families are helped in their planning not just for the school year, but for the future.
We work hard to keep students informed about college requirements, current college admission procedures, workforce issues and military enlistment. Work-study opportunities, volunteer services, and apprenticeships are encouraged to give the student more experiences that will allow them to be better informed about career decisions and further educational goals.
Credits are issued for previous work completed in specific academic areas. A consultation can also be set to discuss using the interest areas, work opportunities, volunteering, etc for putting together credits. Fees are $25 per hour for consultations.
